Meet Anne Stedman Herwick, the mastermind behind "Drunk Mom Reviews," who's proving that comedy content doesn't need a Hollywood budget to hit different. Anne's built her series around a brilliantly simple concept: sit on her couch for 10 minutes, review products she actually loves, and keep the whole production so streamlined she never has to battle LA traffic for a shoot. We caught up with her to talk about her "lean and mean" approach to content creation, how she uses just ring lights and iPhones to create high-quality comedy videos, and why she swears by viralnoise.com for finding those perfect comedic cues that make every moment land. Here's what she shared about avoiding creator burnout, the power of collaboration, and building a sustainable content practice that leaves room for all your other creative projects.
"Music can transform content. How do you pick the right tracks for your projects, and how has good music selection elevated your work?"
Music is everything, especially for my series “Drunk Mom Reviews” which is pure comedy so every cue in every video has to work. And to be honest, it’s pretty easy to find cues that will work. We just go to viralnoise.com, do a comedy search and start making playlists. I love that I can access all of the different mixes too. Sometimes, you can find gold in one of the sub-mixes.
"Every creator has their essential toolkit. What's in your current tech setup, and which tools have been game-changers for you?"
Our motto is lean and mean, so we keep it very simple. Some ring lights, 2 iPhones, some tripods and we’re ready to roll. That’s what I love about this medium – you don't have to have a million dollar production to make something that looks high quality. You just need someone with a good eye for framing and lighting.
"Creator burnout is real. How do you keep your content fresh while protecting your creative energy? What helps you stay consistent yet innovative?"
I avoid burnout by keeping the production demands reasonable – that’s part of the reason I created “Drunk Mom Reviews” – so I could sit on a couch for 10 minutes to review products I love and actually use. I don’t have to jump into crazy LA traffic to go to a location for the shoot. I just walk into my living room, fire up the cameras, and 10 minutes later, I’m free to create other projects I have going on.
"What advice would you give to creators just starting to build their audience? What do you wish someone had told you early on?"

Always do collaborations with other people and/or brands. Not only is it inspiring creativity, but you are both bringing new potential followers and fans to your social media channels. Co-collaborating posts is highly encouraged.
