Meet Corey Moss, the creative force behind Bold Soul Studios, who's revolutionizing sports storytelling in the digital space. After producing "Sports Town Stories" for Hearst Television and “Very Local,” Corey channeled that experience into Bold Soul Sports, a brand that's cranking out over 1,300 videos in just one year. We sat down with him to dive into his lightning-fast creative process, how he's bringing that premium "30 For 30" storytelling feel to social media, and why good music selection is absolutely critical when you're turning around content in under two hours. Here's what he had to say about finding those perfect story moments and building a distinctive brand in an oversaturated sports media landscape.

"Looking back at your journey - what was that first piece of content that made you think 'I might be onto something here'? What clicked for you?”

Bold Soul Studios created and produced a series called Sports Town Stories for Hearst Television and Very Local where each episode told inspirational and unique stories from different cities across the country, all sports, all levels. Delivering that show, it really felt like we were in our element. So we combined what we learned from that production and my experience with QB1, with all the years of making short form and social content to create Bold Soul Sports. If you look at sports media brands across social, they are hot takes, highlights, gambling and fantasy. So we are bringing that 30 For 30/Real Sports storytelling to digital formats.

"We love creative processes at Viralnoise. How do you take your content from initial idea to final publish? Any special approach that sets you apart?”

We want to be the premiere sports storytelling brand, and fortunately there are new powerful and inspirational sports stories living out every day. We just hit our one one-year anniversary and have made more than 1,300 videos, so we have gotten really good at finding the stories, from the biggest events happening in sports, to the tiniest towns. Once a story is greenlit, the process to getting it produced and published typically takes less than two hours.

"Music can transform content. How do you pick the right tracks for your projects, and how has good music selection elevated your work?”

I have been working with Alec Puro for about 15 years and he’s my first call whenever I need music for a project. I trust his taste inherently, and Bold Soul Sports has been no different. The Viralnoise catalog is so vast. Our videos vary widely as well, so we usually let the sport take us to specific genres (hip-hop for basketball, for example) or the mood of the piece. We work at a rapid pace, so it’s essential that we are able to find what we are looking for in a matter of minutes, sometimes seconds.

"What upcoming projects have you excited right now? Anything you're particularly looking forward to sharing?”

We recently finished a series of 80 prospect profiles ahead of the NFL draft. So many incredibly inspiring stories. You know how you get really into the Olympics every four years because of the powerful pieces NBC produces around the athletes? We want to bring that strategy to other events, like the draft, the launch of the WNBA season, and of course we also produced a massive series around the Olympics and will do the same for the Winter Games.

"Your style is distinctive. How did you develop your signature aesthetic? Was it planned from the start or did it evolve naturally?”

Because we tell stories across every sport at every level, we want to have continuity with the production style. So we keep it pretty simple with the editing, nothing overly stylized. The captions are always the same size and color. We use the same narrator for every piece. We get right into the story and we use our Bold Soul Studios end card, which is not common in social or YouTube, but why not treat this content the same way we do our movies or TV series? We are equally as proud.

"We all have unexpected hits. Tell us about your most surprising viral piece - what do you think made it connect so well with your audience?

We just made a video about a Triple A baseball player who got called up to the big leagues mid-game and then had the winning hit in his debut. It got 75k views in the first 24 hours on TikTok, which has been harder for us to crack. That’s the perfect kind of story for us.
